KEEN DIED - At his home in Lucas, Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1902, Isaac L. Keen, aged 81 years, 11 months and 25 days. The deceased was born in Harrison county, Indiana, Sept. 15, 1820. In boyhood he worked at steamboating on the Mississippi river on a boat running between Louisville, Ky., and New Orleans. In 1849 he was married to Miss Abigail Hall in Shelby county, Ill. Soon after they moved to Lucas county and settled near Norwood, where he resided until five years ago when he moved to Lucas. The result of the union was six children, three boys and three girls, five of whom survive: J. W. of Norwood, H. E. of Jay, Rosa, Ellen and Rebecca at his house in Lucas. The younger son died in infancy. Mrs. Keen preceded her husband to the better land in 1883. Since that time he has lived with his three daughters. All the children were in attendance during his three months of sickness and death. In early manhood he became connected with the M. E. church of which he was a class leader. His life was a criterion for all. He knew he must soon pass to his reward and talked to his children a few days before his death expressing a readiness to go whenever the Savior called. His last words were, "All is well." The funeral services were conducted at his late home on Thursday morning by Rev. C. B. Harvey, after which the remains were taken to Norwood and laid to rest by the side of his wife. Obituary courtesy of Greg Volk
