Description	:	State Of Indiana, Wayne County Before me a Notary Public in & for said County personally appeared George W. Champ who being duly sworn according to law declares & says that he has been well & personally acquainted with Isaac Hester late a Corporal Co. D of the 8th Regt. Ind Vols for about fifteen years past and that before entering the military service aforesaid he was a stout able bodied man by occupation a brick mason & plasterer & before enlistment & up to the time of entering the service was working at his trade. Champ who being duly sworn according to law declares & says that he has been well & personally acquainted with Isaac Hester late a Corporal Co. D of the 8th Regt. Ind Vols for about fifteen years past and that before entering the military service aforesaid he was a stout able bodied man by occupation a brick mason & plasterer & before enlistment & up to the time of entering the service was working at his trade. Said Isaac Hester came home having been discharged by reason of disability. I saw him frequently after discharge & talked with him in regard to his disease, Chronic diarrhea contracted in the service aforesaid as he stated & as I verily believe Said Soldier endeavored to treat himself with patent medicines. I treated him for some time & the disease was somewhat relieved so much so that the soldier flattered himself of final recovery. He tried many proposed remedies but never received any permanent relief & died of Chronic Diarrhea, which was a continuation of the same disease he had when arriving home from the military service, on the 8th day of June 1867 I visited him but a short time before his death & know from personal examinations that the cause of death was Chronic Diarrhea & I certify I have no interest in the claim for pension on account of said decd. Champ MD Subscribed & sworn to before me this 11th day of October 1867 & I certify that I have no interest direct nor indirect in the prosecution of the claim for pension this affidavit is sought to establish and further that the aforesaid affiant G.
