Isabel Catherine Crouse, 81, Riverport, died October 26, 1999, in the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Five Houses, she was a daughter of the late James and Ellen (Creaser) Romkey. She was a member of Trinity United Church and actively involved over the years in the senior choir and the U.C.W. She was a past noble grand of the Riverview Rebekah Lodge 56, Riverport, of which she was a member for over 50 years. Over the years, Isabel was actively involved as a volunteer for her community.... Surviving are her husband, Douglas; daughters, Margo and her husband Sidney Strowbridge, Riverport; Maureen Carswell and her companion Bill MacKinnon, Sackville; daughter-in-law, Ellen and her husband Bruce MacCarthy, Midville Branch; sisters, Maisie Mosher, Lower Rose Bay; Phyllis Hilton, Halifax; brother, Henry Romkey, Halifax; grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Victor Whalen, Bridgewater; Jeffrey Crouse, Fredericton; Amanda Strowbridge, Halifax; Erica Dawn Strowbridge, Riverport; great-grandson, Andrew William Whalen; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Andrew; infant daughter, Judith; sisters, Ena, Marcella, Alice; brothers, Albert, Paul. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral 3 p.m. today, in Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment in the Lower LaHave Cemeetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church Building Fund. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
