Description	:	"After many weary months of suffering, death released on April 21, Mrs. Isabella Hamaker Brown, wife of John M. Brown of this city. Mrs. Brown was born in Franklin County, Ohio Sept. 29, 1838, where she lived until she was seventeen years of age, she then moved with her parents to Ogle County, Illinois, and in 1877 she came to Story County, Iowa, where she has lived since. She was the daughter of a Methodist minister, and was married to John Brown Oct. 4, 1860. To them were born seven children, five of whom are still living, four being present at... Read More	"After many weary months of suffering, death released on April 21, Mrs. Isabella Hamaker Brown, wife of John M. Brown of this city. Mrs. Brown was born in Franklin County, Ohio Sept. 29, 1838, where she lived until she was seventeen years of age, she then moved with her parents to Ogle County, Illinois, and in 1877 she came to Story County, Iowa, where she has lived since. She was the daughter of a Methodist minister, and was married to John Brown Oct. 4, 1860. To them were born seven children, five of whom are still living, four being present at the funeral, which was held at the United Brethren Church, of which she has been a member since 1895. On Wednesday April 23, at 2 p.m. Rev. O. L. Wilson preached the funeral services. A large audience gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to one of their fellow beings thus teatifing [sic] to their high reguard [sic] in which she was held. Her remains were laid to rest in the Ames, Iowa cemetery." The obit was posted on Ancestry.com. Maxine L. Peterson Ballard, Brown's great-granddaughter extracted the notice from microfilm of a 1908 Ames, Iowa newspaper. The image of the typed page was posted by trish1861.
