Read More	LA CROSSE TRIBUNE, La Crosse, Wisconsin, Saturday, July 29, 1905: Former Viroqua Woman, Well Known Here, is Alive and Well in Waterbury, Nebraska, is Glad News After believing for ten years that his sister, Mrs. Harrison Sayre, was dead, Captain S. R. McMichael of Viroqua, has received word that she is alive and well in Waterbury, Neb. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Sayre, who were former residents of the western pat (sic) of Vernon county and were well known in La Crosse in war time and the early seventies, moved west some thirty years ago. For several years Mr. McMichael was in communication with them, but finally the correspondence stopped, and after some years had elapsed, Mr. McMichael heard through some one that Mrs. Sayre was dead. He then wrote two letters to their address, and they were returned, so he took it for granted that she was dead. He had heard nothing about the family until Robert Gray of Page, Neb., who was in Viroqua recently on a visit, told him of them. Mr. Gray had seen Mr. Sayre shortly before he came to Viroqua, and he told him to find out what had become of Captain McMichael. So he met him while in the city and gave him the pleasant information that his sister, Mrs. Sayre was alive and well and that their family of seven children had grown up and were prosperous. They are located at Waterbury, Neb., where Mr. Sayre was postmaster for twenty years when he resigned. Mr. and Mrs. Sayre will celebrate their golden wedding on August 25.
