Description	:	Isabelle "Izzy"Ackerman, 86, Kenmare, died Monday, May 19, 2008 in a Kenmare hospital. Isabelle M. Longre was born on November 1, 1921, the daughter of John and Fannie (Kerr) Longre in Kenmare, ND. She was raised and educated in Kenmare. Isabelle spent a short time working in Detroit, Michigan, during World War II, before returning to Kenmare. On August 23, 1947, Isabelle was united in marriage to Jerome "Bud" Ackerman in Kenmare. They made their home in Kenmare, where Isabelle worked at the Old Irvin Hotel café, and later at the Farmers Union Café until it closed. Bud died August 28, 1994.... Isabelle continued to live in Kenmare, working at Gartner's Jack and Jill Grocery until ill health forced her to retire, at the time she was 85 years old. Isabelle was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, and the VFW Auxiliary, both in Kenmare. Surviving relatives include: son and daughter-in-law, Ronald B. and JoAnn S. Ackerman, Milton-Freewater, OR; sisters: Margaret Anderson, Ferndale, MI, Ruth Anderson, NC, Gloria Black, Lacy, WA; two grandchildren: Susan Koehn and Rhonda Ackerman; two great-grandchildren: Kagan Koehn and Josi Koehn; She was preceded in death by her husband, J.J. "Bud" Ackerman; her parents, John and Fannie Longre and two brothers, John and Harold Longre. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND Visitation: Friday, May 23, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare and prior to the vigil at the church. There will be no reviewal Saturday prior to the service. Vigil Prayer Service: Friday at 7 pm at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND Burial: St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Kenmare, ND.
