Description	:	Died, Monday 18th, at his residence in Elmdale, Isaiah Dwight Rider, sr., of heart failure, at the advanced age of 73 years, 2 months and 8 days. Mr. Rider was born March 10, 1823, at Winchendon, Mass., and when ten years old removed with his parents to St. Lawrence County, N. Y., where he was brought up on a farm. In 1843 he removed to Ohio, remaining two years; then, after a residence of two years in Michigan, located in LaSalle County, Ill. Read More	Died, Monday 18th, at his residence in Elmdale, Isaiah Dwight Rider, sr., of heart failure, at the advanced age of 73 years, 2 months and 8 days. Mr. Rider was born March 10, 1823, at Winchendon, Mass., and when ten years old removed with his parents to St. Lawrence County, N. Y., where he was brought up on a farm. In 1843 he removed to Ohio, remaining two years; then, after a residence of two years in Michigan, located in LaSalle County, Ill. While a resident of LaSalle County on March 5, 1851 he was married to Mrs. Catharine Speaker of LaSalle County by whom he had five children. In 1853 Mr. Rider moved to Whiteside County and in the spring of 1860 moved to Kansas locating on Diamond Creek in this county. He afterward, sold his Diamond Creek farm and bought another on the Cottonwood River, south of Elmdale. This farm he subsequently sold to Chase County for a poor farm and since lived in Elmdale. Mr. Rider leaves a wife and four children to mourn his decease. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Holtz, of the Strong City M. E. Church, and the remains were laid to rest in the Elmdale Cemetery. Son of Sara Ramsdall and Isiah D. Rider.
