Description	:	Isham Sims Upchurch married Adelia Beavers on 23 December 1851 in Chatham Co., NC. He was the first son and third child of Murry Upchurch and Nancy Scott. He served as a Private in Company G, 16th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry, C.S.A. during the Civil War. Isham Sims Upchurch was a successful farmer and owned about 450 acres that straddled the Chatham / Wake county line. He and wife Adelia were members of Mt. Pisgah Church for a number of years before moving their membership to Green Level Baptist Church. After the death of wife Adelia in 1893, he married secondly,... Read More	Isham Sims Upchurch married Adelia Beavers on 23 December 1851 in Chatham Co., NC. He was the first son and third child of Murry Upchurch and Nancy Scott. Isham Sims Upchurch was a successful farmer and owned about 450 acres that straddled the Chatham / Wake county line. He and wife Adelia were members of Mt. Pisgah Church for a number of years before moving their membership to Green Level Baptist Church. After the death of wife Adelia in 1893, he married secondly, Rosanah (Mrs. R. A. Taylor) on 3 February 1903. He is buried on the Old Family Homeplace.
