Mrs. Ackley died Sunday at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 22 days. Iva Belle Coates, the daughter of Frank Melvin and Lydia Long Coates, was born Sept. 24, 1899, in Jewell County, Kansas. She grew up on the farm and was educated in the Triump School. Sept. 9, 1917, she was united in marriage to Albert George (Bert) Ackley at the home of her parents. They moved to a farm in Jewell County, farming there until 1945 when they moved to the Ike Feller farm north of the Cement Plant. Nov. 23, 1971, they retired from the farm and moved to their home in Superior. Mrs. Ackley was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the North West Country Club and the Superior Senior Citizens. In 1967, Mr. and Mrs. Ackley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their farm home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Hine (Glennie), Mrs. Charley Miller (Edna), and Mrs. Andrew Richards, (Verda). Survivors are her husband, Bert; one brother, Melvin Frank Coates, Netawaka, Kan., and other relatives. The Rev. John P. Besore III was the officiant. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
