She was born in Elwood, Ne., on Feb 8, 1896. Daughter of Willis Samuel Chadd and Eva Francis Winslow. She moved to Callaway with her family when she was 4 and was edicated there. Read More	Thanks to contributor #46814593; OBIT 31 August 1965 Mrs. Harrison Gray (Iva Leota Chadd) of Callaway, Ne., age 69 years, died following a long illness, in the Callaway Hospital. She was born in Elwood, Ne., on Feb 8, 1896. Daughter of Willis Samuel Chadd and Eva Francis Winslow. She moved to Callaway with her family when she was 4 and was edicated there. On July 3, 1913 she was married at Kearney, Ne., to Harrison Gray. They lived in Callaway for 2 years, then moved to Arnold where they made their home for 11 years, before moving to the Elm Valley West of Callaway where they lived for 15 yrs. They then moved into Callaway where they were in business for several years before retiring to their small acreage south of town. IN 1963 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with an open house. Iva has always been a lover of flowers and took great pride in her home and yard, taking a very special pride and joy in her grandchildren. On March 26, 1947 she was baptized in the Episcopal Church in Callaway. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Harrison of Callaway, 2 sons, Gerald K. Gray of Arnold and Harold F. Gray of Cozad, 1 daughter, Wanda, now Mrs. Harlen Weatherly of Oconto, Ne. 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Roger Gray and wife, Mikie and son Tad of Plainview, Ne., Harlen Dean Weatherly and wife Corrinne and daughter Terri Lee of Lexington, Ne., Sharron Weatherly of Oconto, Geraldine Gray of Lexington and Ronnie Gray of Cozad. A son in law, Harlen Weatherly of Oconto, 2 daughter in laws, Elsie of Arnold and Mary Alice of Cozad, a niece Zelma Horn of Lusk, Wyo., who made her home with the Grays for sometime. Brothers, Arel of Omaha, James of Gothenburg and Clyde of Chico, CA. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Ethel Purcell, brothers, Marion, Ira, Clarence and Willis and 2 grandsons, Clifford Gray and Don Weatherly. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 4 at 2 p.m. from Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Callaway by Paster Rev. John Yamamoto of Broken Bow officiating. Music furnished by Mrs. Marion Cantrell and Mrs. Junior Wells. Accompanied by Mrs. Charles Myers, organist. Pallbearers were Charles Beshler, Henry Bonde, Maurice Edginton, Dewey Cooper, Charles Nansel and Ed Klein. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway with the Tim Funeral Home of Callaway in charge of arrangements.
