Funeral services for Iva will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation for Iva will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Compasses. Iva Marguerite Westaway was born March 11, 1914 in Bradley, Illinois the daughter of George F. and Iva V. (DeVore) Westaway. Iva graduated from Conesville High School in 1931. On March 4, 1938, Iva was united in marriage to Leo R. Jarrard in Kahoka, Missouri. Following Leo's passing on April 25, 1966, Iva was united in marriage to Harry R. Jarrard on July 18, 1973 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Iva worked at the Quadrangle at the University of Iowa and then was a cook at a several different establishments, including Lone Tree Community School and the Lone Tree Restaurant. Iva was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree, the United Presbyterian Church Women and the Church Quilter's Group. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking, but most of all; Iva dearly enjoyed spending time with her family. Iva will be deeply missed by her daughters, Nancy K. Yakish of Windmill Manor in Coralville and Grace Yakish of Solon; step-son, Wayne W. Jarrard and his wife, Wanda of Atalissa; 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, one brother, Donald Westaway of Conesville, one sister, Grace Armstrong and her husband, Bob of Davenport and daughter-in-law, Betty Jarrard of North Liberty. Iva was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; two step-sons, William J. Jarrard and Eldon L. Jarrard; one step-daughter, Marilyn Brumwell; one grandson, David Yakish; one granddaughter, Rebecca Siebken; one sister, Mildred Westburg; and one brother, George Westaway.
