This was also the date of birth given on her U.S. Social Security Applications and Claims Index, as shown in ancestry.com. The year of birth on her gravestone is 1900. According to Iva's obituary, she was 67-years-old when she died, and if this is correct, neither 1889 nor 1900 would be a correct birth year. Kopp, 67, of 922 East Main street, was found dead about 5:20 a.m. today at her home by a neighbor and a patrolman of the Ottumwa police department. Death was due to natural causes. Surviving are two sons, Doyle Steele of Ottumwa and Rex Kopp of Sterling, Ill., and a daughter in Davenport. The body is at the Traul funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements. --------------- "Mrs. Kopp Services," From "Ottumwa Courier," July 8, 1959: Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Kopp of 922 East Main street, who died in her home Tuesday, will be held at the Traul funeral home Friday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. L.C. Card, pastor of the Open Bible church, officiating. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Dyle [sic] and Rex Kopp of Sterling, Ill., and one daughter, Iola Kopp of Davenport. Mrs. Kopp was the daughter of Sarah and Major Boston and was born in Worthington, Mo., January 4, 1889. She was an employe of the Ballingall hotel. Pallbearers will be Charles Kopp, Jack Harlan, Jess Flack, Larry Green, Larry Kopp and Harold Walker.
