Dick was born September 13, 1935, to Henry and Alvina (Kautz) Bitterman at the family's home in rural Clay County, NE. Dick graduated from Sutton Public Schools where playing on the varsity basketball team was a cherished memory. On October 18, 1953, Dick and Eva Plettner were united in marriage. Read More	Sutton resident, Ivan "Dick" Bitterman, 76, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his home in Sutton, NE. Dick was born September 13, 1935, to Henry and Alvina (Kautz) Bitterman at the family's home in rural Clay County, NE. Dick graduated from Sutton Public Schools where playing on the varsity basketball team was a cherished memory. On October 18, 1953, Dick and Eva Plettner were united in marriage. Dick farmed and lived in the Sutton area all of his life. He also worked at Sutton Co-op, George Brothers and many other part time jobs. He continued to work into his 70's. Eva died in 2001, and eight years later he married Vickie Cook from Sutton, NE. Dick and Eva were early members of the Sutton Christian Church and he held various leadership positions. In later years, a Bible study in his home grew to the formation of the Sutton Community Church, where he continued to serve the Lord. He was also an active member of the Sutton Lions Club. Dick is survived by: wife Vickie Bitterman of Sutton, NE; daughter Teresa (Keith) Johnson of Glenvil, NE; sons Todd (Sandy) Bitterman of Broken Bow, NE; Scott (Joni) Bitterman of Sutton, NE; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren all of whom he thoroughly enjoyed. Dick was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Eva Bitterman; daughter, Shawna and two brothers. Interment was in the Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, NE.
