Description	:	Ivan Eugene Casteel, 79, of Lancaster, Mo., died September 9, 1995, at the Boone County Hospital, Columbia, Mo. The son of Henry William and Elsie Damie (Kinman) Casteel, he was born on a farm north of Lancaster, Mo., on May 18, 1916. On October 9, 1945, at Lyons, Kans., he was united in marriage to Alline Thomas Griffin who survives. Also surviving are his son, Rodney, and wife, Viorica Casteel of Lancaster, Mo.; two grandchildren, William Henry Casteel of Lancaster, Mo., and Mary Elizabeth Casteel of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Irene Farrell of Lancaster, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends. On October 9, 1945, at Lyons, Kans., he was united in marriage to Alline Thomas Griffin who survives. Also surviving are his son, Rodney, and wife, Viorica Casteel of Lancaster, Mo.; two grandchildren, William Henry Casteel of Lancaster, Mo., and Mary Elizabeth Casteel of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Irene Farrell of Lancaster, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandchild. Ivan was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the European Theatre. He was a farmer and for nearly 20 years was the manager of the M.F.A. Service Station in Lancaster, Mo. Alline and Ivan have been spending their winters in Weslaco, Tex., for nearly 20 years. He was a member of the Christian Church in Lancaster and had served as an Elder of the church there. Funeral services were held September 11, 1995, in the Baptist Church in Lancaster, Mo. Rev. Brent Fleshman, pastor of the Lancaster Christian Church officiated and Rev. Mark DeShon, pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church, assisted. Music was provided by Cole Tippett, soloist, accompanied by Maureen Watkins on the organ. Pallbearers were James Neagle, Nelson Tallman, Charles Beeler, Paul Welsh, Len Small and Jim Groseclose. Honorary bearers were Paul Beeler, Orval Ledford, and Floyd Manning. Military rites were held at the cemetery by the Schuyler VFW Post #5895 and the American Legion Hoffman-Eason Post #575. Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Mo.
