Description	:	William Henry Casteel, son of John Newton and Harriet (Cochran) Casteel was born on a farm northeast of Lancaster on December 21, 1886 and passed away at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa, on Sunday morning, September 8, 1968. He was 81 years, eight months and seventeen days old. He was united in marriage to Damie Kinmon at her father’s home east of Bloomfield, Ia., on February 2, 1908. Read More	William Henry Casteel, son of John Newton and Harriet (Cochran) Casteel was born on a farm northeast of Lancaster on December 21, 1886 and passed away at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa, on Sunday morning, September 8, 1968. He was 81 years, eight months and seventeen days old. He was united in marriage to Damie Kinmon at her father’s home east of Bloomfield, Ia., on February 2, 1908. To this union one daughter, Lowell Irene and one son, Ivan Eugene were born. Mrms. Casteel lived on the same farm for their entire life. He was converted in 1913 under the ministry of the Rev. A.B. Brooks at the Darby Christian Church. In 1927, Mrms. Casteel transferred their membership to the Savannah Christian Church. Mr. Casteel was an Elder in the church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Alline Casteel of Lancaster; his daughter and her husband, Irene and Ray Farrell of Lancaster; two grandsons, Ronnie Farrell and Rodney Casteel; two great grandsons, Vic and Frank Farrell;, one brother, Albert Casteel, all of Lancaster; one sister, Mrs. Alice Zaerr of Pulaski, Ia., and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 10, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lancaster Christian Church with Rev. Quentin Johnson officiating and Rev. Charles Shoults, Jr. assisting. Music was furnished by Rev. Kenneth Campbell, soloist and Miss Jane Watkins, organist. Selections were, “Sometime We’ll Understand” and “The Last Mile of the Way.” Pallbearers were Arthur Dale Hoskins, Max York, Charles Kinnamon Jr., Guy Rominger, Holland Kinnamon and Sam Botts, Jr. Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery at Lancaster, Mo. Arrangements were by Norman’s.
