Description	:	George Siemer was the youngest of two children born to George and Maria Hummerdorf. He was born in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. His father died on November 4, 1870. Maria was left a widow with a 5-year-old daughter and George who was two years old. His mother remarried in 1875 to George Alering. The family came to Edwards County, Kansas in 1879. Maria was left a widow with a 5-year-old daughter and George who was two years old. His mother remarried in 1875 to George Alering. The family came to Edwards County, Kansas in 1879. George never married and spent quite a bit of time with his sister, Anna, who married Nick Schmitt, Sr. J. George moved into Kinsley and operated a chicken, egg, and cream business. He also was a well-known beekeeper. Toward the end of his life, J. George was completely deaf. He died on March 14, 1953, and is buried in St. Nicholas Cemetery.
