Description	:	J.T. "Mr. T" Thackston, 92, husband of Sarah Margaret Nash Thackston for 63 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Mr. Thackston was born October 18, 1917, in Fountain Inn, to the late Seaborn Earle Thackston and Stella Owings Thackston. He retired from Garrett & Garrett, and served many years as a volunteer on the Fountain Inn Fire Department. Read More	J.T. "Mr. T" Thackston, 92, husband of Sarah Margaret Nash Thackston for 63 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Mr. Thackston was born October 18, 1917, in Fountain Inn, to the late Seaborn Earle Thackston and Stella Owings Thackston. He retired from Garrett & Garrett, and served many years as a volunteer on the Fountain Inn Fire Department. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, and was a member of American Legion Post 123 and Masonic Lodge #192. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn, where he attended Bob Roper's Sunday School Class. He loved to ride his lawnmower and cut grass, and he cherished his children and grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Tim Thackston and wife Leta; three daughters, Ann Jenkins and husband Charlie, Joyce Wrenn, and Jane Wham and husband Wendell; a brother, Cecil Thackston; a sister, Virginia Osteen; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Wham; a son-in-law, Rick Wrenn; five brothers, Hunter Thackston, Marvin Thackston, Charles Thackston, Ben Thackston and Grady Thackston; and two sisters, Grace Phillips and Louise Hipps. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral Service. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn, officiated by Rev. Michael Bearden. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Cannon Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn, 206 N.
