Jabez Guy Mader 1959 Bridgewater Bulletin The death of Jabez Guy Mader of Upper Branch which occurred at his home on Tuesday, March 31 st, removed from our midst a well known and highly respected citizen. Of a bright and cheery disposition, keen sense of humour and ready wit, he will be greatly missed by the members of his family and a wide circle of friends. The late Mr. Mader was born at Upper Branch 77 years ago, a son of the late Stephen and Sarah Mader. He was a faithful member of the New Canada Baptist Church and keenly interested in the Lord's work. Left to mourn their loss are a sorrowing widow, Laura (Knox) Mader; two daughters, Unita (Mrs. Ellison Conrad) and Bernadine (Mrs. Ernest Beck), Upper Branch; and a son, Bruce, Watford; a grandson, Vaughn, who lived with him for the past three years; two brothers, Locke, Surrey; Amni, U.S.A.; and a number of grandchildren. The funeral service was held at the Union Church, Upper Branch on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. , conducted by Lic. F.Dean Annis who spoke comforting words, using as his text, James 14:14. Hymns were "The Old Rugged Cross," "Good Night and Good Morning," and a duet "Beyond the Sunset" by Mrs. Russell Jodrey and Miss Katie Ritchie. Interment was in Lone Pine Cemetery.
