Description	:	Jack E. Bonge, age 95, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Fremont, NE, died Thursday, August 04, 2011 at Brighton Gardens in Omaha. He was born October 19, 1915 in Creighton, NE to John and Theresa (Stortz) Bonge. A few years later his family moved to a farm 3 miles northeast of Neligh, NE. Bonge, age 95, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Fremont, NE, died Thursday, August 04, 2011 at Brighton Gardens in Omaha. He was born October 19, 1915 in Creighton, NE to John and Theresa (Stortz) Bonge. A few years later his family moved to a farm 3 miles northeast of Neligh, NE. He worked with his parents and sisters on the farm from childhood through graduation from Neligh High School. He married Catherine Mersch on February 8, 1937 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. The couple farmed north of Neligh until 1946 when they moved back to the family farm upon the retirement of Jack's parents. In 1967 Jack and Catherine moved to Fremont where Jack applied the skills he learned on the farm to his work as a grounds man at both Valley View and Fremont Country Club golf courses, retiring in 1982. He moved to Omaha in 2007. Jack was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Survivors include: Sons – Dennis and wife Rita Bonge of Sacramento, CA and Lynn and wife Sandra Bonge of Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Catherine, his wife of 71 years; and 3 sisters, Pearl Diers, Alpha Jordan and Irma Potts. Funeral Service will be 1:30 P.M., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont is in charge of arrangements. (402) 721-4490
