Read More	Obituary From “The Ottumwa Courier,” January 22, 2005: Jack Lunkley AGENCY – Jack K. Lunkley, 81, of Agency, died at 3 p.m., Jan. 20, 2005, at the VA Medical Center. Iowa City. He was born Feb, 27, 1923, in Ottumwa to John W. and Olive Orman Lunkley. He married Mary Ellen Bircher May 27, 1949. He was a resident of Wapello County all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He had been employed with John Morrell and Co. for 33 years and Barker Poultry for four years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of the Brethren and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lynnette (David) Baker of Ottumwa and Denise (Kevin) Holzhauser of Agency; two sons, Kenneth (Theresa) Lunkley of Agency and Robin Scott (Cindy) Lunkley of Indianola; six grandchildren, Bryan (Kimberly) Baker, Natalie Baker, Stevie Marie (Joseph) Hazelwood, Cody Holzhauser, Sierra Lunkley, Crystal Muehe; two great-grandchildren, Shane Baker and Shadam Hazelwood; two brothers, Rev. Charles Lunkley of Marion, Ind., and John Lunkley Jr. of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lindsey Nicole Holzhauser; two brothers, Clyde Lunkley and infant Willoughby Lunkley; and sister, June Marnholtz. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Grove officiating with military services by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will begin 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 2-4 p.m. and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to The Church of the Brethren or donor's choice.
