Description	:	Jack P. Crosson, pharmacist, who owned and operated Crosson Rexall Drugs in Brooklyn for over thirty years, died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 92 on May 22, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wilma, two children and their spouses, David and Natalie, of San Francisco, CA, and Carolyn and Terry Rhinehart, of Williamsburg, IA. Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 25th, with burial at Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 24th, at Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established. Jack Crosson and Wilma Dye were born a week apart, graduated together from Eddyville High School in 1932, and were married on New Year's Eve in 1933. Jack was the youngest son of Sidney and Audie Crosson, of Eddyville. He was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Lucile and Mildred, and brothers Guy, Mark, and Robert. After working in the Eddyville drug store for several years, Jack left to attend Drake University in 1941. He received his pharmacy degree in 1945 and took his State Pharmacy Board examinations the day of the Allied invasion of Europe on D-Day. After graduation, Jack worked at Mathews Rexall Drug in Grinnell from 1946-1954. All Jack Crosson ever wanted to do was to operate a family drug store in Iowa. Jack and Wilma operated the family pharmacy in Brooklyn as an inseparable team from 1954 to 1988. Together, they contributed leadership and resources to countless civic causes in Brooklyn over the past fifty years. Over that period Jack served as president of the Commercial Club, was one of the founders of Brookhaven Nursing Home, contributed to Flag Plaza, and served on the Library board. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and both Wilma and Jack were 50 year members of Eastern Star. To the end, he continued to exhibit fierce independence, great personal grace, and old-fashioned loyalty to family, friends, and community.
