She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack P. Crosson, and a sister Glenna Blier. Wilma Louise Dye was born September 14, 1914, in Eddyville, Iowa, the daughter of Barney and Maude Johnson Dye. She and Jack were born a week apart, graduated together form Eddyville High School in 1932 and were married on New Year's Eve 1933. Their honeymoon consisted of borrowing a car and driving to Oskaloosa to see the movie, "Meet the Baron." In 1941, Wilma and Jack moved to Des Moines, where he attended pharmacy school at Drake University. She worked at the munitions plant in Ankeny during World War II. After the war, both Jack and Wilma worked at Matthews Drug Store in Grinnell. From 1945 through 1988 Jack and Wilma formed an inseparable team in operating Crosson Rexall Drug in Brooklyn. While Jack filled prescriptions, Wilma was always out front, welcoming customers, serving sodas and probably distributing a few opinions. Together, Wilma and Jack Crosson contributed leadership and resources to countless civic causes. Wilma was a 60-year member of Eastern Star. Although she lived with Alzheimer's for many of her final years, her eyes always lit up and a smile spread when visited by her great-grandchildren. Her love for her family and dedication to her community will be missed.
