Jack graduated from Wabash High School in 1940, worked for the Public Service Company until 1947, formed Courtesy Electric Service in 1947 and owned until 1961; he then transformed the business to Wabash Electric Supply, Inc in 1961 and owned until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Wabash Friends Church, charter member and past President of Toast Masters, member and past President of Wabash Lions Club, where he received the "Melvin Jones" award. Historical Museum Committee, member of the Wabash Chamber of Commerce since 1947 and past Vice President, past Board President of Wabash County United Fund, past President of Wabash Community Service, member of the Wabash Elks Club, member of the Wabash American Legion, and a member of the Wabash Country Club. Jack received the 1987 Distinguished Citizen Award, the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, from the Wabash Rotary Club, and the Book of Golden Deeds Award, from the Wabash Exchange Club. He was a member and past Co-Chairman of the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Corridor, and a member of the Courthouse Lighting Committee. Jack received the Father of the Year Award in 1963 and was honored as Sagamore of the Wabash in 2003.
