Read More	Jackie Lee Duff (November 27, 1928 - October 20, 2016) U.S. Veteran Jackie Lee Duff, 87, of Pittsburg, passed away at 3:24 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Comfort Care Homes of Pittsburg. He was born November 27, 1928 at Cornell, Kansas, the son of Dewey and Cecil (Schmidt) Duff. He attended Pittsburg High School and later Pittsburg State University. Following high school, he entered the United States Marine Corp, where he served from December 1945 until August 29, 1952. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He then served in the United States Air Force until he retired, as a Master Sergeant, on July 1, 1970. On March 28, 1959, he was united in marriage to Patricia Anne Smith at Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1988. After retiring from the military, Mr. Duff worked for Dicky Clay and then went to work for the Quick Trip Corporation as the District Supervisor until he retired. Membership was held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pittsburg; Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post; and Pittsburg VFW. He enjoyed volunteering at the V.A. Office and liked genealogy. Survivors include, a daughter, Alice Duff of Pittsburg; a son, Michael Duff of Pittsburg; a brother, James ‘Jim’ Duff of West Sacramento, California; a sister, Delores Boscarino of Tempe, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Mandy Heckler of Krum, TX, Melissa Lewis of Springfield, MO, Samuel Lewis of Atlanta, GA, Candice Goodwin, Jensen Duff, Jayden Duff, and Jacalyn Duff, all of Pittsburg; and four great-grandchildren, Kaden Heckler, Kara Heckler, Maximus Goodwin, and Kingzton Polland. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters, Jackie Lewis and Pamela Wehrman, a brother, Harold Duff, and a sister, Irene Jones. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday (Oct. 24) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Daniel Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Friends may call at the Brenner Mortuary on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to American Cancer Society. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
