Description	:	Jacob Bodmer, junior, son of German immigrants Anna Maria (née Lantz) and Jacob Bodmer, senior, was born 18 May 1856 in Fairfax, Fairfax County, Virginia. When enumerated in 1860, the Bodmer family were farming in Fairfax County, but the census indicates also that the family had also moved through Virginia's Culpeper and Prince William Counties. Wiles were married on 20 January 1887 at St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church in Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland. The groom was then a resident of Middleburg, Loudoun County; the bride of Hagerstown. The couple's first three children were born in Middleburg. By 1892, Jacob, junior, and Carrie had moved to Montgomery County, Maryland, where their next five children were born. Jacob Bodmer, junior, worked as shoemaker. He was also, in 1899, appointed a deputy sheriff for Montgomery County. In the 1910 census, he was a farmer; in the 1920 a mail carrier.
