Read More	CARLTON TAWES DIED IN BALTIMORE Death Came Suddenly At His Home There On Monday FUNERAL SERVICES HELD HERE ON THURSDAY Mr. Jacob Carlton Tawes, former Crisfield resident but who for a number of years has been living in Baltimore, died suddenly at his home there on Monday. He was 56 years of age. He was the son of Capt. Lorenzo E. Tawes and the late Susan Tawes, and related to a number of the most prominent families of lower Somerset county. Known best by his nickname, "Scout," Carlton Tawes had a wide acquaintanceship, warm friends who looked forward to his visits to his father here with real pleasure. It was but a few weeks ago that he had been home. Having an exceptional personality, Mr. Tawes also had the faculty of making and keeping friends. Witty, and with good-natured humor, he would kid with friends and strangers with equal facility and to his and their enjoyment. Born and reared here, and at one time a member of the "Times" staff in the composing room, quite some years ago he moved to Baltimore, and at the time of his death he held the responsible position as one of the head toolmakers at the Edgewood Arsenal Proving Grounds. Funeral services were held at the Hubbard Funeral Home yesterday, Thursday afternoon, at 2:10 o'clock, conducted by Dr. Melvin E. Wheatley, pastor of Immanuel Methodist Church. Interment was in the family lot in the Sunnyridge Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers were Oliver Horsey, John Daniels, Austin J. Loreman, Harold E. Loreman, and A. Wellington Tawes.
