Description	:	Jacob & Anna Dickman were married February 2, 1860, at Marne, Germany, where they resided 20 years after their marriage. They came to America on the ship "Australia", from Hamburg, Germany arriving in New York on February 1, 1882. Jacob Dickman was born in Germany on the 6th day of August 1834 and died at this home in Creighton, on December 31st, 1930, at the age of 96 years, 4 months and 24 days. Jacob Dickman was born in Germany on the 6th day of August 1834 and died at this home in Creighton, on December 31st, 1930, at the age of 96 years, 4 months and 24 days. He was united in marriage to Anna Pu, and to this union 11 children were born, 5 boys and 6 girls. Three of the children preceded their father in death. Mr. and Mrs. Dickman came to the United States in the year 1882, coming to Nebraska and taking up residence in Dodge county where they lived four years, then coming to Knox county where they lived six years until they moved to Oklahoma where they spent six more years, after which they returned to Knox county, living first east of Creighton and for the past twenty-two years in Creighton. During these years they have made many acquaintances and friendships that have been valuable in their declining years. Mr. Dickman was a very fine character, held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and has been respected as a real pioneer. He was honest in all his dealings and possessed a generous hear and friendly feelings to all. For the past eleven years his health has been very poor, he was not able to see or hear effectively but was very patient and cheerful. After an exceptionally long life, with a long partnership of 71 years with his beloved wife, he passed peacefully away to await the resurrection morn. He is survived by his widow, 3 sons, John of Creighton, Jacob of Armour, S. D., Herman of Omaha; 6 daughters, Mrs. Mary Goettsch of Fairbrown, S. D., Mrs. Otto Moeller, Creighton, Mrs. Elizabeth Thomsen of Oklahoma, Mrs. Everett Opkis, of Creighton, Mrs. D. H. Struck of Winner, S. D., Mrs. F. H. Reichwaldt of Pleasant Dale, Nebr. He is also survived by 70 grandchildren and 82 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held of Friday afternoon at the Funeral home in Creighton, conducted by Rev. W. E. Wilson, pastor of the Methodist church and burial was made in Greenwood cemetery. Obituary published in the Creighton News 1-8-1931
