Description	:	Jacob Schnoor was born in Burg, Germany, July 12, 1867 and after a very brief illness, died in the St. Francis hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska, August 13, 1931 at 19:45 p.m. at the age of 64 years, one month and one day. At the age of fifteen years and after the death of his father and two sister, he immigrated to the United Sates, locating at Denison, Iowa, being employed by a lumber company. Read More	Jacob Schnoor was born in Burg, Germany, July 12, 1867 and after a very brief illness, died in the St. Francis hospital in Grand Island, Nebraska, August 13, 1931 at 19:45 p.m. at the age of 64 years, one month and one day. At the age of fifteen years and after the death of his father and two sister, he immigrated to the United Sates, locating at Denison, Iowa, being employed by a lumber company. By his faithfulness and ability he won the confidence of his employer and by recommendation was given the management of a lumber yard belonging to the Gilcrest Lumber Company at Kearney, Nebraska. Later he was made manager of the lumber yard at Amherst. Nebraska, which job he held until his death. Mr. Schnoor managed this yard for forty-one years. Braving the hardships of a frontier life and making for himself friends far and near, he helped build the town and country in which he lived. On August 1, 1891 he was united in marriage to Miss Betty Kenney of Amherst, Nebraska. To this union eight children were born, seven living and one preceded him in death. The living are: Arthur of Casper, Wyoming; Frank of Amherst, Neb.; Walter of Sumner, Neb.; John of Omaha, Neb.; Theodore of Miller, Neb.; Neta of Amherst, who is at home; Mrs. Reba Brown of Hastings, Neb.; Mrs. Mamie Patterson, deceased. Besides his wife and children there are left to mourn his departure, one sister, Mrs. Saloman and one brother, Mr. J.N. Schnoor, both of Denison, Iowa, and nine grandchildren. Mr. Schnoor was a devoted and loving husband and a faithful father. Funeral rites were held in the United Brethren church at Amherst, Nebraska, Rev. E.A.
