He met and married his sweetheart, Miriam L. Voigt. Jake served in the U.S. Army National Guard retiring after 36 years of service. During his life he worked for Cargill where he retired after 40 years. He met and married his sweetheart, Miriam L. Voigt. Jake served in the U.S. Army National Guard retiring after 36 years of service. During his life he worked for Cargill where he retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Meadow Hills Golf Course where you could find him on many nice days playing golf, he also loved to ride around town on his bicycle and during the winter Jake and Miriam enjoyed their time as “snowbirds” in Texas. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Miriam Off, sons; Randy (Francie) Off, of Iowa Falls, IA; Jim (Teri) Off of Cedar Falls, IA; and Steve (Jody) Off of Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, three brothers; Larry Off of St. George, UT; Harley (Harriet) Off of Iowa Falls, IA; Herman (LaVonne) Off of Iowa Falls, IA; sister, Julia Hess of Iowa Falls, IA; and sister-in-law, Alice Off of Iowa Falls, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Off, and brother-in-law, Robert Hess, sister -in-law, Rosalee Off, infant sister, Lucille Off.
