Locust Street, Lodi, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital. A native of South Russia, Mr. Hoffer came to Lodi four years ago from McClusky, ND where he had resided since childhood. He was retired, but had large farming interests in North Dakota. Mr. Hoffer was a member of the Emanuel American Lutheran Church. Surviving him is his wife, Eva, and the following seven sons: Fred, John, Jake, Louie, Ferdinand and Theobald, all of McClusky, ND and Edwin of Minneapolis, MN. He also leaves three daughters: Mrs. Magdalena Schock and Mrs. Pauline Heisz of Goodrich, ND; and Mrs. Eva Heisz of Arena, ND. Mr. Hoffer also had two brothers, Mike of Lodi and John of Turtle Lake, ND; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Ed. Pachaeco, of Oakland. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Tues from the chapel of the East Pine Funeral Home, with Rev. E. J. Roleder of the Emanuel American Lutheran Church officiating.
