Description	:	Jacob J. Serr, son of Adam and Georgiana (Steinmetz) Serr, was born in Sutton, Nebraska on March 4, 1897 and passed away on June 1, 1970 in the Henderson hospital at the age of 73 years. On March 2, 1926 he was united in marriage to Mae Hultman. To this union two children were born. Mr. Serr spent his entire life in the Sutton community and was a local businessman for many years. Serr, son of Adam and Georgiana (Steinmetz) Serr, was born in Sutton, Nebraska on March 4, 1897 and passed away on June 1, 1970 in the Henderson hospital at the age of 73 years. On March 2, 1926 he was united in marriage to Mae Hultman. To this union two children were born. Mr. Serr spent his entire life in the Sutton community and was a local businessman for many years. In 1926 he became a member of the Methodist Church in Sutton by confession of faith. Since the union of that church into the federation, he continued his membership in the Federated Church until the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and four sisters. Survivors include his two daughters, (Vivian) Mrs. George Remoel of Longmont, Colo., and (Arlis) Mrs. Francis Rolfes of Sutton; one sister, (Clara) Mrs. Philip Green of Sutton; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Kohler Chapel Friday morning, Rev. Walter Bailey officiating. Mrs. Lloyd Hultine was pianist and Dale Hultine, soloist, sang "Abide With Me" and "Beyond the Sunset." Serving as pallbearers were M.W. Yost, Fred Grothe, Ed Steinhauer, Claude Kinyoun, R.M. Figi and H.K. Griess. Burial was in Sutton cemetery.
