Funeral services will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Kruckenberg was born July 2, 1871, at Bingendorf, South Russia. In 1888 he came to the U.S. with his parents and settled with them in Mercer county. As a young man, he was a cowboy, boat builder, and later a farmer in the Expansion area. In 1893 he was married to Emilia Wegerle, who preceded him in death in October, 1918. His second marriage, to Mrs. Katherine Kraft in June, 1921, ended in her death in 1926. On Jan 17, 1929, he was married to Mrs. Maria Schiermeister, who survives him. Other surviving relatives are a son, Ernest Kruckenberg, Hazen; and 3 daughters, Mrs. Anna Hill,Hinikley, MN, Mrs. Martha Feigel, San Francisco, CA, and Mrs. Hilda Van Vleet, Oshkosh, WI. Three children preceded him in death. He is also survived by one brother, John Kruckenberg, Hazen, and one sister, Mrs. Christ Sailer, Stanton, besides 7 grandchildren and 3 great-randchildren. Pallbearers at the funeral services will be Martin Oster, Paul Goetz, Fred Adolf, sr., Sam Drath, Gottlieb Schmidt and Ernest Schramm. Rev. E.L. Theilen will conduct the services. Burial will be in the St. Peter Lutheran cemetery north of Hazen.
