Description	:	Jacob Loyd Hoots, 87, of Millers Creek died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at his home. He was born July 3, 1930, in Wilkes County to Jack and Nellie Morrison Hoots. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hoots was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 42 years, Betty C. Hoots; his second wife, Kate Miller Hoots; and two brothers, John Hoots and Warner Hoots. Read More	Jacob Loyd Hoots, 87, of Millers Creek died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at his home. He was born July 3, 1930, in Wilkes County to Jack and Nellie Morrison Hoots. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Hoots was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 42 years, Betty C. Hoots; his second wife, Kate Miller Hoots; and two brothers, John Hoots and Warner Hoots. Surviving are his son, Jeff Hoots and wife, Ann, of Roaring River; his stepdaughters, Tina Miller of Charlotte and Mary Reynolds and husband, Tony, of Conover; a stepson, Mike Miller of Dallas, Texas; his sisters, Audrey Brown of Mooresville, Betty Pugh of Wilkesboro, Ann Bumgarner and husband, Doug, of Roaring River and Evon Bryant of Macon, Ga.; and his sweetheart, Judy Blackburn of Millers Creek. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Miller Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Benham Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Hospice,126 Executive Drive, Suite 110, Wilkesboro, N.C. 28697. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. Online
