Jacob Rothrock was the fifth of nine known children of George Rothrock Sr. (1789-1857) and Mary Margaret (went by Margaret) Bailey (1786-1850) who married c1808 in presumably Pennsylvania. After Margaret died, George remarried to the widow Leah Price (1816-1894), but had no additional children.
Jacob first married to Henrietta Stroup (1828-1893) on 15 Nov 1846 at Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Jacob and Henrietta were the parents of six known children, namely:

After Henrietta died, Jacob married to the widow Mary Ann Snyder Myers (1840-1926) on 27 Apr 1895 at Cass County, Indiana, but had no additional children.
In Dec 1850 the family (parents and first three children, Arminia listed as age 2 months) was living at Decatur Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. In 1860 the family (parents and first four children; along with Jacob's brother Simon) was living at Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania with Jacob listed as a farmer. Sometime after that they moved to Iowa, then Nebraska and then White County, Indiana. In 1870 Jacob, Henrietta and children: Henrietta, Luther, David and Jacob's brother Simon were living at Osceola Township, Clarke County, Iowa. In 1880 Jacob, Henrietta, son David, and Jacob's brother Simon were still living at Osceola Township, Clarke County, Iowa. In 1885 Jacob and Henrietta were living at Jefferson County, Nebraska. In 1900 Jacob was living at Union Township, White County, Indiana with his second wife, Mary A. In 1910 Jacob and Mary (each married twice) were living at Monticello, Union Township, White County, Indiana with a step-grandson, Carl Beck (age 8, born Indiana). Carl was a grandson of Mary by her first marriage to a Mr. Snyder, and their daughter married a Mr. Beck.
