Read More	Mr. Jacob Wise, an old and respected farmer of the Vienna Township, died at the home of his son-in-law, Peter Cober, three miles northeast of Green Mountain at 7:10 this morning, February 27th, of heart disease. Mr. Wise's death was quite sudden and unexpected, in spite of the fact that he had been seriously sick since last Wednesday. He had been in failing health for months, but his decline did not become rapid until recently. Wednesday of last week he was stricken with heart disease. Mr. and Mrs. Wise and Mr. and Mrs. Cober have been living separately on the same farm, which is the homestead. Owing to Mr. Wise's recent sickness, he was removed to his daughter's home, where he could be better cared for. Mrs. Wise has been an invalid for months. She was stricken with paralysis, and has but recently been able to get out of bed. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wise are natives of Germany. The former was born at Baden in 1831. He came to this country landing in New York on April 15, 1833. After spending some time at Bloomsfield, New Jersey, Mr. Wise went west to Saint Louis and stayed there a short time, when he went to Lee County, Illinois. There he was married on April 15, 1858, his wife being Anastasia Coleman. She had come to America in 1856. Mr. and Mrs. Wise continued to live in Illinois until 1865 when they moved into Iowa and settled on the farm in the Vienna Township where they have since lived. On April 15, 1908, Mr. and Mrs. Wise celebrated the 50th Anniversary of their wedding, with the aid of a large gathering of friends and relatives. The occasion was also the 55th Anniversary of the landing of Mr. Wise in this country. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wise is survived by five children; Mrs. C.A. Buchwald of this city, Henry Wise and Mrs. Peter Cober of Vienna Township, John Wise of Tama County and Mrs. Charles Burt, north of the city. The funeral will be held at the home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Green Mountain, Marshall County, Iowa.
