At 23 years of age, she met Earl and married on... Read More	Jacqueline Evans Bruhn was born to Zelma & Raymond Evans in Omaha, Nebraska on June 19th, 1932. Jacqueline, known as Jacquie grew up on a lake in Carter Lake, Iowa. Her Mother was her forever inspiration of strength and gentleness and started her on her journey to the path of righteousness that she embraced her whole life. Her lake life discovering God’s creatures and beautiful landscapes sparked her forever deep love of all Nature and animals, art, music, gardening, and creating beauty by her own hands. At 23 years of age, she met Earl and married on February 28, 1953. Together they began Bruhn’s Freezer Meats. Mother of four and working alongside her husband, their business grew from 1 meat processing plant to several across the country. In 1967, they got out of meat processing and invested in real estate. They built a beautiful family home on acreage on a high bluff with an incredible view of the river below. Jacquie and Earl had an open canvas to fill in with beautiful landscaping, flower gardens, horse stables, and a gorgeous swimming pool. Her home was always picture perfect inside and out. Jacquie’s two daughters and two sons were her jewels that she protected with her life. The road of life was rough, but she stayed the course with resiliency and grace…thanks be to Jesus, our Lord, and Savior. Soon after, they purchased Hale Bay Resort, a very remote island fishing camp on Rainy Lake, Ontario, Canada. Another Heavenly piece of Nature she would sincerely treasure forever. Widowed in 1977, Jacquie confidently took the reins of her corporation and kept the Island on Rainy Lake. With great courage and determination, she navigated the 50 mile trip down the lake with supplies every year from ice break to snowfall until her late 70’s. At 50, she endured a severe stroke that limited her speech and her extremities’ use on her right side. Soon after, her eldest son passed away suddenly. Her faith never faltered, and her closeness to the Lord became her strength to endure the days ahead with her responsibilities. Jacquie was a mother who did not smother but instead allowed her children their freedom to explore nature as she did on Carter Lake through a landscape she designed. Church on Sundays, 10 Commandments, delicious foods, and a fantastic gift of sensing when trouble was near. Her favorite animals were mother Elephants. We know why - protective, determined, smart, compassionate, ultra-loving, and positive. Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were her Divine treasures. As instilled by her mother, she remained close to her siblings and family the best she could given her disabilities. Jacqueline will be forever loved by all close to her. She has fulfilled her purpose of walking the path of righteousness. The Lord has called her home, showering her with Praise in the Grandest Garden of All with her family and friends that she'll greet with her big beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes.
