Born on October 22, 1930 in Paulding, Ohio, James was the son of the late Thomas and Fannie (Miller) Andrews. James was a 1949 graduate of Paulding High School. On July 11, 1950, he was united in marriage to Muriel Scranton and she survives. James served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was employed by General Electric, Ft. Born on October 22, 1930 in Paulding, Ohio, James was the son of the late Thomas and Fannie (Miller) Andrews. James was a 1949 graduate of Paulding High School. On July 11, 1950, he was united in marriage to Muriel Scranton and she survives. James served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was employed by General Electric, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 2000. James was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Hicksville until declining health kept him from attending. He was a General Electric Fireman at the plant and he enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. Survivors also include a son, Jeff; a daughter, Carol A. (John) Wirth; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Wirth of Chandler, Arizona, Lisa Wirth of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas of Ft. Wayne and Mark of Lancaster, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Merle Andrews and a sister, Grace Antoine. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with 2 hours of visitation prior to the service at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
