He died of pneumonia due to exposure. Crippled for a quarter of a century, Bowsher made the best of his affliction. When hunting season came on, he was ready for the occasion. A trusty steed and a time-worn surrey made up the difference in his incapacitation. Assisted to his "rig," Bowsher would traverse the areas which were open to this means of transportation. More than once, he came back with the some limit. As in other years, Bowsher was ready with his double-barreled shotgun when hunting season came in November 15. His crippled legs were tired, the usage of years showed more definitely. the faithful old horse had not survived the months intervening between November 14 of 1928 and the year that followed. Doubly handicapped, Bowsher had spent months figuring out how he could join other hunters in the war on rabbits and pheasant. He opened the back door of his country home, shoved a chair in the entrance and waited. November 15 ended and the crippled hunter had to his credit just one rabbit and a pheasant. Too, a cough which developed into a severe cold and subsequently pneumonia. He died at 4:15 p.m., Tuesday. The deceased was the son of Mrs. Sarah Bowsher, of Cridersville, who died 8 months ago at the age of 102; probably the oldest resident of northwestern Ohio. Since his mother's death, Bowsher maintained bachelor quarters on the 300-acre farm on the outskirts of Cridersville. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Arthur, of Kansas City, Mr. & Mrs. Charles McClintock, of Hume. Fred McClintock manager of the Barr Hotel Bakery, is a nephew. funeral arrangements have not been completed.
