Description	:	James Bratton, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Bratton, was born at Louisburg, Kansas, April 26, 1873, and departed this life February 23, 2041, at the Basham Hospital in Eureka having been in ill health for the past two years. On March 7, 1900, Mrs. Bratton was united in marriage with Maggie Cartwright. to this union ten children were born, six still whom are still living. Mr. Bratton came to Greenwood County in 1898, and began business as a cattleman. Eleven years was spent at Teterville. Mr. Bratton then bought a farm north of Eureka where he and his family lived until 1924 when they moved into Eureka. He leaves to mourn his departure his companion, Mrs. Maggie Bratton; three sons, Robert, Donald and Loren, all of Eureka; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Province, Mrs. Hazel Mansfield of Eureka, and Mrs. Opal McClintick, of Hamilton; one sister, Mrs. Belle Whittaker of Wichita; three brothers, Clarence, of Lyle, Missouri, Edgar of Paola, Kansas, and Arthur, of Beagle, Kansas; also a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Bert Sutton, was held from the Christian Church in Eureka, Wednesday, February 26. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
