Description	:	UNION - James Anderson Berry Sr., 88, of 210 Glendale Road, died July 3, 1998, in Northside Hospital in Atlanta. A native of Union, he was a son of the late Dr. Robert Reid Berry and Sarah Jane Palmer Berry. He was a graduate of Union High School and Wofford College where he was a member of the college football team. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Read More	UNION - James Anderson Berry Sr., 88, of 210 Glendale Road, died July 3, 1998, in Northside Hospital in Atlanta. A native of Union, he was a son of the late Dr. Robert Reid Berry and Sarah Jane Palmer Berry. He was a graduate of Union High School and Wofford College where he was a member of the college football team. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was one of the founding directors of Union Federal Savings, he was co-owner of Berry Builder Mart, co-owner of Union Insurance and Trust Co., a member of the Union Rotary Club and the Union County Historical Foundation. He studied violin an Converse College for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Aiken DuPre Berry; a daughter, Barbara Berry Peterson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, James A. Berry Jr. of the home, Robin Reid Berry of Atlanta and Peter DuPre Berry of Union; a brother, J. Nesbitt Berry of Union and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the home, 210 Glendale Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gary Byrd. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
