Description	:	BUFFALO - James Boyd O'Shields, 76, of 1655 Meadow Woods Road died Feb. 27, 1998, in Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Buffalo, he was a son of the late Benjamin Monroe and Augusta Smith O'Shields. He was a member of the Putman Baptist Church and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 32 years of service where he served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Maness of Union; a brother, Lewis Earl O'Shields of Orange Park, Fla.; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Putman Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Tillman and Dr. Mark Long. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with military rites. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Putman Baptist Church Building Fund, 3692 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, Buffalo, 29321.
