He had many friends who will be saddened by his departure. Following is a sketch of his life: James Burich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burich, was born in Adams County, Iowa, June 23, 1885, died October 21, 1927, aged 42 years, three months and 28 days. In 1907 he was married to Barbara Slezak. Mr. and Mrs. Burich made their home on the farm where he was born and reared to manhood and where he passed away. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Barbara, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Burich of Creston, also four brothers, William, Albert, Charlie, and Elmer, and one sister, Clara. Two brothers, John and Joe preceded him in death several years ago. The funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon and the esteem in which Mr. Burich was held was shown by the large number of friends in attendance at the funeral. It was said to have been one of the largest crowds ever assembled in that this vicinity. Rev. C. B. Guest, pastor of the Prescott M. E. Church conducted the service. A quartet composed of Mrs. Clyde Moon, Mrs. John Wilson, J.T. Pettinger, and William Perkins sang several beautiful songs. Burial was in the Bohemian cemetery.
