Born July 16, 1947, to the late Carl and Winnifred (Veinot) Whynot. James was the most kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years, Cecelia (Pettis); daughters, Rhonda (Trevor) Walters, West Northfield; Christine (Bruce) Johnston, Eastern Passage; Albertine VanSnick (Chris Norman), Middleton; grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Brookelynn, Kelsey, Sydney, Josh, Andrew (Matilda); great granddaughter, Emily; sisters, Phyllis O’Neil, New Albany; Leona Stoddart, Inglisville; brother and best friend, Robert (Christine) Whynot, Springfield; many nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle James”. James lived 60 years of his life in Springfield on the home-place until moving to LaHave Heights in 2007 to enjoy retirement with his wife and family. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Michelin Tires, Bridgewater for 30 years, retiring in 2005. A hard worker his entire life, he worked for the former Kirk Forest Products in his younger years and on the family farm. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Springfield Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for many years. James had tremendous faith in God and loved his church family. Visitation 7-9 p.m., Monday evening in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday in Springfield Baptist Church. Rev. Lloyd Gilleo and Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Private family interment will follow in the church cemetery. Immediate family flowers only donations may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia . James lived each day with happiness and took great pride in his family and enjoyed lending a hand to anyone, expecting nothing in return.
