Description	:	James Clyde "Pa" Howard, 91, of 406 Glassy Mountain Church Road, husband of the late Pauline Turner Howard, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Easley. Mr. Howard was born in Pickens County. He was the son of the late William and Texie Ward Howard. Mr. Howard was a self-employed Paint Contractor and Farmer. He was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church for 62 years, where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Howard was born in Pickens County. He was the son of the late William and Texie Ward Howard. Mr. Howard was a self-employed Paint Contractor and Farmer. He was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church for 62 years, where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also Deacon Emeritus, teacher, music leader and Treasurer and Clerk for 40 years. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Byers and Jackie Hughes, both of Pickens; four sons, James C. Howard Jr. of Garner, N.C., Kirby Howard of Easley, Ronald Howard of Pickens, and the Rev. Tommy Howard of Slater. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; eight great-great-stepgrandchildren; and a special adopted granddaughter. Mr. Howard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Honorary escort will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Blue Ridge View and Eric Clark. Omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge View Baptist Church Building Fund, 790 Wolf Creek Road, Pickens, SC 29671. The family is at the home. Dillard Memorial Funeral Home is serving the Howard family.
