Born at Watford, August 31, 1914, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lalia (Morton) Bell. He was a member of Epworth United Church, Nova Scotia Salmon Association, life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 102, honourary member of the New Germany Fire Department and past treasurer of the AAA Athletic Association. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas from 1939 to 1945. He is survived by two daughters, Florence (Mrs. Dolan Wentzell), Phyllis (Mrs. Bryden Snyder), both of Watford; a son, James, Bridgewater; seven grandchildren; four great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife, Jessie; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Laidlaw and Mrs. Evelyn Feindel and two grandchildren. The body rested at New Germany Funeral Home. Funeral service was held October 13, 1992 at Epworth United Church. Rev. Grant Walls officiated. Burial was in the Indian Brook Cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 102, New Germany, conducted a memorial at the church. Pallbearers were Legion members- Ray Fuller, Douglas Laidlaw, Harry Carver, Max, Linwood, and Neil Feindel. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
