Description	:	Born Nov. 28, 1933, in Council Bluffs, he was the son of Francis and Anna Pavelich Slobodnik . On Oct. 9, 1954, he married Marilyn G. Schneider in Council Bluffs. Mr. Slobodnik was a district sales manager for Gehl Farm Equipment. He and his wife moved to Mount Pleasant in 1971, where he owned the Ford tractor dealership for 25 years before retiring. He was semi-retired, recently returning to part-time work at the Henry County Highway Department and the Mount Pleasant School District. Read More	Born Nov. 28, 1933, in Council Bluffs, he was the son of Francis and Anna Pavelich Slobodnik . On Oct. 9, 1954, he married Marilyn G. Schneider in Council Bluffs. Mr. Slobodnik was a district sales manager for Gehl Farm Equipment. He and his wife moved to Mount Pleasant in 1971, where he owned the Ford tractor dealership for 25 years before retiring. He was semi-retired, recently returning to part-time work at the Henry County Highway Department and the Mount Pleasant School District. He lived in Neola, where he attended grade school and graduated from high school in 1951. After high school, he attended Creighton University and was a Korean War veteran, serving two years. He also lived in Jacksonville, Ill. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, where he was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; four sons, four daughters; 28 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one sister and one brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Alphonsus Gathering Space, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. The funeral Mass for Mr. Slobodnik will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
