Description	:	COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for James Dow Goff, 82, of Baxter, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 13, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville. Interment will follow in Goff Cemetery in DeKalb County. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Sunday, March 12, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Goff Cemetery in DeKalb County. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Sunday, March 12, and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Goff passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Putnam County to the late Lanis and Mable Allison Goff. After retiring from Fleetguard Filtrations, Mr. Goff worked at the Putnam County Fair. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family while perfecting his barbecue technique. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Thomas Goff; a daughter, Debbie Jackson (Earl Baker); three sons, Jeff and Brenda Goff, Tony Goff and Jimmy and Jennifer Goff; seven grandchildren, Annie Jackson and Aaron Smith, Josh Goff and Melanie, Jesse Goff and Chelsea, John and Amanda Goff, Paris, Keegan and Karli Goff; and four great-grandchildren, Davie May Holloway, Iris Smith and Thor and Axell Goff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Dale Goff; and his brother, Dwight Goff. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Charlie West will officiate at the services. Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville in charge of arrangements, 526-7158.
