Marsh was born Nov. 9, 1856, at Adams, Green County, Wis., and died at Sutton, Nebr., Sept 19, 1915. He came to Nebraska in 1870 at the age of 14 years settling on a homestead with his parents 2 miles northeast of Sutton. He saw the development of this section from the prairie to the garden spot it is today, and bore his share of the burdens that had to be borne to produce this transformation. He was married at Edgar, Nebr., to Miss Margaret Sullivan, Jan. 1st, 1876. To this union were born three daughters and one son. He leaves to mourn his departure, one son, his mother, one brother, and two grand-children, Harriet Marsh and James Herrington. Mr. Marsh was an upright man and a good citizen. He was very prominent in the lodge activities of the city and was well known in this work over the state. He was well liked and his presence will be missed by many.
