Rutter, a pioneer resident of this city, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in the family home at 130 West Brown avenue following a stroke of paralysis suffered Nov. 1. He had suffered a previous stroke in December of last year but he had been able to get about the house on crutches sine that time until last Wednesday. He was 86 years old. James E. Rutter, a pioneer resident of this city, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in the family home at 130 West Brown avenue following a stroke of paralysis suffered Nov. 1. He had suffered a previous stroke in December of last year but he had been able to get about the house on crutches sine that time until last Wednesday. He was 86 years old. He was born in Wilmington, PA., January 17, 1847, the son of John and Marie Rutter. He was united in marriage with Sarah Huber, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara Huber on April 29, 1873. She is gravely ill in the home. Remaining with Mrs. Rutter are the following children: Frank E Rutter of Lima; Mrs. Bertha Turner of Springfield, Floyd Rutter and Elmo Rutter of Cleveland and William Rutter of Bellefontaine. The last named is a member of the family household on West Brown avenue. The following children preceded their father in death: May, Mame, Harry, Ernest and infant Essie Claire. One sister of the deceased remains, Miss Lizzie Rutter of Hubbard, who is 81 years old and so inform her coming at this time is precluded. There are 13 grandchildren remaining. Mr. Rutter had an almost life-long business in transfer work. He was a kind-hearted, good man, always friendly and companionable. He had bee retired for 14 years. He was almost a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Kennedy Funeral Home with the Dr. C.E. Rice, pastor of the Lutheran church in charge. burial will be made in the Bellefontaine Cemetery. The Daily Examiner Bellefontaine, OH Monday Nov. 6, 1933
