Read More	James Edward Ellis March 14, 1951 - December 20, 2020 James Edward Ellis, 69, of Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at his residence. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Donna Coyle Ellis and son of the late Ralph Leland Ellis and Ruby Griggs Ellis. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Duke Energy, and a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. He loved his family, woodworking, working in his yard, and was an avid Gaffney Indians and South Carolina Gamecocks fan. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Troy Lémon Ellis of the home; a brother, Richard Daniel Ellis (Darlene) of Gaffney; nieces, Crissy Swofford (Brandon), Heather Ellis, Marci Beth Ellis and Misty Ellis; nephews, Daniel Ellis (Anna) and Matthew Ellis; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Dean “Hossman” Ellis and Robert Lee Ellis, and a niece, Meagan Ellis. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, in the Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Wil Owens officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family will be at their respective homes.
